Preachers and perspective preachers gather to reflect on the Common Lectionary Scriptures for the coming week. Folks may bring their lunch to the gatherings. Certificates are available for those who attend a certain number of meetings a semester. Free.

THE ART OF SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
This is a day-long workshop to introduce the ministry of spiritual direction. We will explore the theological and pastoral underpinnings of spiritual direction, examine the nuances between spiritual direction and pastoral and clinical counseling and identify the skills needed for spiritual direction—most notably the contemplative evocative listening method and discernment.

DAMIAN ZYNDA, PH.D.
Director of Formation at the Church of the Transfiguration, in Pittsford, NY. Damian holds a Doctorate in Systematic Theology and Christian Spirituality from the University of St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto. Damian has taught at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry and is currently on faculty in the Christian Spirituality Program at Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.
